The 418th Flight Test Squadron's test parachutist program, the only of its kind in the Air Force, will be landing at Beale! Test parachutists are responsible for testing and evaluation of Department of Defense parachute systems and have to perform a minimum of 150 jumps per year! These troops are USAF SERE (Survive Evade Resist Escape) Specialists, the most elite survivalist instructors in the United States’ military. In a tribute to the Legacy of Reconnaissance, some of the SERE Specialists will conduct live jumps in U-2 pressure suits, the high-altitude space suits worn by U-2 pilots!
